Harrison, Tennessee is a beautiful and historic city in Tipton County. This small town has been home to many famous people including country singer Hank Williams Jr., NFL football player Terry Bradshaw, and TV personality Joe Franklin. Harrison was founded in 1836 by General James Harrison who fought with Andrew Jackson during the Battle of New Orleans. Visitors will enjoy going for a picnic at the Big Bear Creek or picking out some fresh vegetables from one of our local farms. You can also spend time browsing around our many antique shops, art galleries, and museums that showcase pieces dating back to the Civil War era. The town hosts several events throughout the year including Founder’s Day in September which honors General James Harrison by recreating his famous battle against Andrew Jackson as well as Christmas on Main Street where Santa Claus arrives each December for pictures with children.
